This conference is being hosted by the University of Valle, in Cali, Colombia. It is organised under the auspices of the GCIW in close collaboration with the international professional organisations represented in the GCIW and other partners. Presentations will be given by experts in occupational health and safety and other organisations concerned with the wellbeing of workers. There will be workshops and panels with representatives and workers from various informal work areas, mainly in Latin America.
The Conference languages will be English and Spanish, with translation between these languages provided. It will be offered to participants both in person in Cali and online, anywhere in the world.
The call for presentations is opening very soon. If you are interested in participation please register your interest over the IEA Constant Contact system here. We do not distribute emails or names to other organisations.
Hybrid Symposium on Design Thinking and Informal Sectors held 13 December, 2025
A One-Day Symposium (hybrid) on Design Thinking and Informal Sectors, was held in Kolkata, India, on 13th December 2025. This event was jointly organized with the Indian Society of Ergonomics, ICOH Scientific Committee on Small Scale Enterprises and Informal Sector, and the IEA Technical Committee on Informal Work. In total 167 people participated (32 in-person) for the eight-hour presentation day. A recording of the Symposium presentations is available on YouTube.
